Uganda Airlines Flight 5XUBC

My inspiration for this painting arose from the fact that I regularly travelled on this plane to London when I was a Marketing Manager of a private pineapple export firm called GS Cash and Carry in the mid1980s. Subsequently, I became very attached to this plane and to the flight Captain, Steven Walusimbi who also became my favourite pilot then.

It was barely a month after my last flight with Walusimbi in the cockpit that this plane crash occurred in Rome, Italy. 28 of the dead were Ugandans, including my favourite captain and his entire crew of seven (out of 52 on board)!

As such, I was moved to make a protest painting to the aviation industry to promote and uphold aviation security proficiency, to aspire to eliminate fatal errors of this nature.
